Whether you are talking about youth, adults, seniors or playing on a keyboard, learning to play the piano has changed a lot over the past 50 years. Back in the 1970s and 1980s, if you wanted to learn piano, you had to find a teacher and go to lessons every week. You would sit at their piano, use their books, and practice at home with sheet music. Sometimes, a neighbor or family member had a piano that they would share in order to practice. I don’t know how they do it! Treble clef, Bass clef, pedals; and the level of difficulty is incredible. I think many of them must be unhuman or something! Mind you, this level of commitment was to prepare those students to make a living with the piano. Many of the current piano courses now available have keyed-in on a different purpose. That is to have more people enjoy their favorite type of music by playing the piano. This objective can be accomplished in a much less sacrificial and enjoyable manner.

If you don’t understand something, you can go back and study it again. With a regular teacher, once the lesson is over, it’s over. Overall, Rocket Piano is a decent choice for people who want to learn piano without taking traditional lessons. It gives you a lot of material for a low price, and you can learn at your own pace from home. It works best for people who like learning from books and don’t mind teaching themselves. However, you should know that some people have had technical problems and trouble with customer service. If you want a program that feels more like a game or gives you feedback on your playing, you might want to look at other options. But if you’re willing to work hard and learn on your own, Rocket Piano can be a good way to start playing piano without spending a lot of money.
